Practice Areas: Jeffrey Learned has practiced law since 1985. Having a strong background in appellate litigation, Mr. Learned heads Denenberg Tuffley's Appellate Practice Group. He has litigated well over 100 appeals in state and federal courts across the country, enjoying great success (including obtaining reversals in over 60% of the cases in which he represented the appealing party - approximately 4 times the average national reversal rate).

In addition, Mr. Learned has extensive experience litigating (and otherwise addressing) property and liability coverage issues. These include pollution exclusions, ordinance or law coverage provisions (or exclusions), trigger of coverage issues, additional collapse coverage, fraud or false swearing, and bad faith.

Finally, Mr. Learned is involved in litigating many large loss subrogation matters. In this regard, he oversees Denenberg Tuffley acting as regional subrogation counsel for one of the largest group of insurance companies in the United States.

App. 678 555 N.W.2d 1 (1996)(property coverage); New Light Company v Wells Fargo Alarm Services, 247 Neb. 57, 525 N.W.2d 25 (1994)(Subrogation); Noran Neurological Clinic, P.A. v The Travelers Indemnity Company, 229 F.3d 707 (8th Cir. 2000)(Property Coverage); Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Co. v Sunrise Club, Inc., 711 So.2d 593 (Fla. Ct. App. 1998)(property coverage); 3910 Super K, Inc. v Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Co., 219 A.D.2d 589, 631 N.Y.S.2d 364 (1995)(Property Coverage).

Mr. Learned has also litigated a wide variety of insurance coverage and subrogation cases before various trial-level courts across the country. These have included a $15 million property insurance coverage dispute arising out of a gas powered turbine loss, various property insurance coverage cases arising out of Hurricanes Hugo, Andrew, Georges and Katrina, liability insurance coverage (duty to defend/allocation of defense costs) questions associated with the Dow Corning breast implant litigation, and subrogation cases arising out of the Americold cave fires in Kansas City, Kansas, the August 2003 power outage in Ohio, and the Rouge Powerhouse Explosion in Dearborn, Michigan.
