Professional Background

Melinda Davis has been practicing law since 1994 with the last 18 years focused on complex, technical subrogation losses in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, the Middle East, and Europe.

As counsel for plaintiffs on losses ranging from fires and catastrophic power outages to chemical plant and energy losses, Ms. Davis brings diverse technical experience to large losses for varied property insurance carriers.

Ms. Davis has significant experience in pursuing subrogation losses through divergent judicial systems in venues outside of the United States and is well versed in all aspects of litigation including trials and appeals.

Her most recent trial in the U.S. resulted in a multi-million dollar jury verdict for a residential fire caused by the improper construction and insulation of a fireplace.

I am an avid reader and enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling, scuba diving, skiing and hiking. I am a certified beekeeper and recently bought a 5 year old chestnut Oldenburg gelding who I am learning to jump and planning on showing next year.

You’d Never Guess:

I went dog sledding in 20 degree below zero weather and slept outside on a frozen lake without a tent for several nights. Drinking water was fetched from the lake, boiled over a fire and drank despite the fact it was brown and smelled like a swamp. I set a pair of wool socks on fire (with my feet in them) trying to keep warm over the fire. Good times.
